What About Bob?

My Real Estate career started back in 1982. Remember 20% interest rates? I do and have been through the ups and downs of three 'downturns'/corrections. And you know what? I'm so positive about the next six months...and beyond...because I've 'been here' before! How many other Realtors can say that? A small percentage. And what we've learned, cannot be 'taught' or obtained osmotically by watching 'reality TV shows' about Real Estate.

How'd I got here after 30 years in the business? A diverse and progressive resume:

 

  • Started with being a salesperson, earning company wide awards for my sales & sold listings volume at Weichert Realtors in NJ.
  • Previous construction experience led to numerous 'new construction' tracts where I was involved from land acquisition to approvals to spearheading to marketing to sales to acting as GC liason to closing. 
  • Attended school to earn my New Jersey Real Estate Broker's license
  • Being 'Broker' led to office management & salesperson training duties at Merrill Lynch Realty and Prudential Real Estate. 
  • First graduating class of the Employee Relocation Council's 'CRP' designation
  • Conception, building, marketing & ownership of a nationwide corporate relocation company, Cornerstone Relocation, purchased by Atlas Van Lines.
  • ...and along the way, I learned everything there is to know about this business.

The 'rest' of the story? I grew up on the 'Jersey Shore (no, not the show) & have been skiing for forty-five years. Starting in my teens, my Dad & I would do three-day trips to Vermont (sleeping in my van for a night) so when 'my life' allowed it, I could not wait to 'own' up here.  I purchased my home in Proctorsville, Vermont twelve years ago & have been dashing back & forth to 'Jersey since then! Two Ski-Doos fill in the time between the mountain & XC. I'm well known as 'Captain Bob' (especially in VT!) & am Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain with a Charter Fishing service on the 'Jersey shore. Besides fishing in VT & NJ, golf & tennis fill my summer months.
